New Certified Reference Material CGL 026 ROCK SALT
We are delighted to announce that new reference material “CGL 026 Rock salt” was certified and produced by Central Geological Laboratory of Mongolia in 2019.
By order of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), of Germany the “Rock salt” reference material is successfully developed in accordance with the ISO Guide 30-35 requirements.
The starting material, a bulk of rock salt was collected by BGR Hannover, Germany. Based on XRD analyses, the mineral composition of the sample was determined as halite (Cl1 Na1) with minor contents of anhydrite (Ca1O4S1) and sylvine (Cl1K1). The material was shipped to Mongolia in January 2018 for preparation and certification by the Central Geological Laboratory (CGL) of Mongolia.
The material was prepared (crushing, drying, pulverizing, sieving, splitting, bottling and labeling) at CGL packed in plastic bottles of 50 gram. The homogeneity and stability tests were performed by the CGL end of 2018 to 2019.
To evaluate data of certification analysis, “ProLab Plus” software for statistical evaluation was used. An inter-laboratory trial with 17 qualified participating laboratories was selected to obtain a reliable base of data for assignment of the certified values. The certified values and uncertainties of the CRM had been determined according to Nested design, ISO 5725-3, ISO Guide 35.
Total of 8 elements and compound (Na, Cl, Ca, S/SO4, Br, K, Sr) certified and 8 elements (Al, Ba, Li, Mg, Mn, Pb, Rb, Zn) were defined as indicative values. ( Certificate_Rock_salt_RM.pdf )
